There’s nothing like a summer sunrise over the mountains - the air is cool, the world is quiet, and no one’s awake to bug you.

GDM’s Mountain Mama is an ode to the original Mountain Mama, Granny Sue, and to our favorite time of day around these here mountains.

Let us show you how we make a Mountain Mama:

Granny Sue had one of the sweetest souls of any woman around.

Feisty when she needed to be and always dressed to the nines, she was the first to be there if anyone needed something.

Granny Sue went to church every Sunday, knew the Bible front to back, and packed a pistol - a pistol in her purse and another under her mattress. Anywhere she went, you can bet there was always one around somewhere.

She was also one of the best bakers in town. Everyone loved her cobbler recipes, and she always made sure that the less fortunate, or someone who was sick and shut in, or as the old timers would say, sick and shet in, had a fresh baked cobbler. Betty Sue’s cobblers were always baked with fresh fruit.

She’s why we have all of our 40 proof moonshine cobbler recipes: Peach Cobbler, Blueberry Cobbler, Wild Cherry Cobbler, and Apple Brown Betty named in her honor.
