New Drink Specials Every Month at the Still
The Grandaddy Mimm’s Distillery is located right in the heart of downtown Blairsville, Georgia.
We make all our moonshine, whiskey, vodka, and spirits on-site, and our team loves to give anyone stopping in a tour of our distinctive way of doing things.
If you have a favorite drink, we’ve got all the right stuff to make it how you like while you sit back, take it easy, and taste the difference.

Mimm’s Legacy Shines On
North Georgia was covered in bootleggers, but one of the most famous mountain moonshiners
was Jack “Mimm” McClure. Mimm made the best moonshine around. Our distillery is founded by
Jack McClure’s great-grandson, Tommy Townsend, who stumbled on his legendary perfected recipe.
Grandaddy Mimm’s uses the same ole moonshine recipe that dates back to the Great Depression,
and today we distill in the same hills where Jack made it…we just pay a few extra taxes.
Songwriter. Family Man. World-Class Distiller.
Tommy Townsend
Tommy is our founder and the great-grandson of Jack “Mimm” McClure, the original moonshiner.
Tommy’s career didn’t begin as a moonshine distiller, but as a musician who played with Waylon Jennings and toured as the lead singer for Waymore’s Outlaws. He’s been in Nashville in the music scene for years, but finds the greatest joy in being back home in Blairsville, Georgia.
He still writes new music today and is never too far away from his guitar. You’ll often find Tommy in his favorite corner booth at the distillery.
Country music and moonshine have a good way of mixing, and we feel it’s always best to enjoy them together.
