How to Make a Moonshine Margarita aka Redneck ‘Rita

GDM’s Moonshine Margarita Recipe

AKA THE REDNECK ‘RITA

- 2 oz Mimm’s Mule Kickin’ 140 Moonshine

- 3 oz Margarita Mix

- Garnish with Lime

Don’t forget the tacos from Lucky’s to drink this down with. They keep our moonshine on stock so you’re ready to go.

Sip it by the pool, on the back deck after a long day, or by the fire with some good company. You can’t go wrong.

Try subbing Mule Kickin’ 140 with Mimm’s Blackberry Moonshine for a fruity twist on the classic recipe.

All May we’re serving up the Redneck Rita as the drink of the month, plus our newsletter family knows of other May-only deals and moonshine specials. Get in on the fun and be a part of our family.

Let us show you how we make the legendary Redneck Rita:

Do you know the old myth that drinking moonshine will make you go blind? Well, have we got a story for you.

While drinking Mule Kickin’ 140 is all fine and good, one place you don’t want it is in your eyes.

Sometimes we get a little crazy at events and, well, we have to apologize for this one…

We'd like to formally apologize for pouring moonshine in the girl in the front row's eyes at the concert in Florida last April. We promise we were trying to pour you a drink but your mouth moved on us! We’re glad you’re okay, but we owe you one.

Despite the unfortunate accident, it was so good to be back playing live music and sharing some shine.

We’ve got plenty of events happening around the distillery you don’t want to miss. Check out our events page or join our GDM family to stay in the know.

One thing we bet you’ve never seen is a mule behind bars…

We promise this is a real story from Mimm himself.

Back in the day of Mimm's original moonshine making, they used to haul the sugar up the Blairsville mountains on a sled with a mule. It took a couple guys to move that much sugar.

Every now and then, the police were smart enough to catch ‘em. One time, Mimm and one of his shiners fled the mule and sugar to run from the law. The police didn't catch Mimm or the guy helping him, but they took the mule to jail.

Mimm never claimed the mule... Anyone know how long a mule stays in jail for?

Phew, we could write a book with all the shine stories we have…
